Diogenes Cup – Tea Dust IV
$35.00
Soda-fired stoneware with tea dust glaze. The golden speckles in the glaze are actually tiny crystals.

Diogenes was an eccentric philosopher in ancient Greece. He was known to sleep outside Athens inside an overturned ceramic tub. He had no possessions save a simple cup. From this cup he drank everything, from water to wine.
One day, Diogenes saw a child scooping water from a stream in his cupped hand, and drinking. Diogenes cast away his one remaining possession, having found another way to simplify his life.
I hope this cup will serve you as well as Diogenes’ cup did, and that you keep it as long as it remains meaningful to you.
This vessel is food-safe. I recommend it be hand-washed, and kept out of the microwave to maximize its longevity. It contains no known toxic materials.
